Maude and Stephanie met on a beach in Mexico when they were both on a family vacation. After chatting for a few minutes they realized that they would become next door neighbors in the same year. Stephanie and her family were building a house next door to Maude's. Their friendship quickly evolved as they shared so many interests and passions.

The love of hosting and cooking for friends and family, the constant search of the best happy hour snacks, the most beautiful cookbooks or the best looking martini glasses. With time, they discovered and tried so many different products and thought they should share them with other food-passionate people in their area.

The name "Marché l'îlot" comes from the simple idea of gathering around the kitchen island (in French: îlot), which is the heart of the home.
